Sisters playing together in the morning sunshine.

When you receive your puppy it will be leaving its mother and
siblings and will be totally dependant on you!
It is important to be aware of the fact that you are now bonding
with your new puppy and more than anything, it needs you and wants
to bond with you. Puppies require attention and a lot of
it. They need supervision, just as a child does and you
must not leave things lying about that they can chew and choke
on - the same applies to your garden. It must be free of
noxious weeds and anything that can harm your puppy.
If you have a busy life and do not have this time to
devote to the rearing and training of a new puppy, consider getting
a mature Lhasa Apso. They are such a long living dog that
a Lhasa Apso will bond with you up to quite an old age and do
not forget, they have a "puppy spirit" for the rest
of their lives!
THERE ARE MANY ADVANTAGES
IN GETTING AN 'OLDER' DOG:
• You can see there are no health problems
• It has been trained fully for you already!
• All immunizations are taken care of and many vet checks
will have been done
• It is ready to love you and look after you immediately
• It will not mind being left alone while you go to work
There are many more advantages to getting a "mature" Lhasa
Apso and do not forget that your puppy will only be a "puppy"
for six months out of its lifespan of up to 20 years of age!
So consider and look at your lifestyle carefully before settling
on getting a puppy!
Remember also that a puppy does not mean that your dog will be 'perfect'
- we all have faults.
Registered Breeders
care - do not buy from a pet shop and support puppy farmers!

It is important to know how the mother of
the pup you are about to buy has been fed and treated, for this
will reflect on the life of your dog. A female who has been
lacking in proper healthy protein, vitamins, calcium and exercise
will not deliver pups that are strong and sturdy. When you
buy from a pet shop, you do not see the parents of your pup and
you do not know how the mother was treated - often very badly, and
often 'over bred' as well as 'inbred'. There is no 'council
or body' to govern the breeding of cross breeds, so you will never
know how inbred your pup may be, until the faults and ill health
begin to show!
The difference in getting a puppy from a responsible breeder is
that you will receive a lifetime of follow up help and assistance
with your puppy. When you buy from a pet shop you walk away
with a cute bundle, never knowing its parentage, how it has been
treated or fed (don't believe what you are told) and then you are
on your own with it completely! If anything goes wrong the
pet shop is not going to be helpful and your vet will have no history
of the dog's parentage to fall back on. You will never know
if your puppy has been bred brother to sister for generations!
Immunizations: I will never part with a pup until it
has been immunized, wormed and vet checked. Each puppy leaves
with a Vet Card and a Diet Sheet and is fully registered with the
NSW Canine Association. Please read your Vet
Card and make sure that your pup is given it's 'shots' on time.
